Chicago People's Art Troupe Marks 10th Anniversary: Vocal Masterclass October 31, Gala November 1
CHICAGO, Ill. — The Chicago People's Art Troupe held a vocal masterclass on the afternoon of October 31 and will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a gala on the evening of November 1, with both events open to Chicago's Chinese American community, the Chicago Chinese Times reported.
The masterclass ran from 1 to 4 p.m. on October 31, led by baritone Professor Yue Cailun in a third-floor meeting room at 218 W. 26th St, giving community singing enthusiasts a close-up session with the vocalist. Yue, a Chinese American baritone and voice professor at the Hartt School, studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and later at Hartt, has performed in numerous Chinese and Western operas and major concerts, and has won honors at international vocal competitions.
The anniversary gala begins at 6 p.m. on November 1 on the third floor of the Furama Palace restaurant at 2828 S Wentworth Ave, where Yue will perform. Tickets are $100 for VIP and $60 for general admission, each including a gift.
For ten years the troupe has worked under the motto of warming the community through art, promoting cultural and artistic life in the Chinese American community and giving local music and arts lovers a stage to share their work.
