Texas Supreme Court Puts Questioning Over Transgender Mailers on Hold

Friday, October 30, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Supreme Court ruled on October 30 to pause questioning in a case involving mailers about transgender resources, shelving the dispute until after the midterm election, FOX 7 Austin reported.

The case began when thousands of Texas households received mysterious mailers addressed to students in the home, repeatedly mentioning a transgender education network organization. The organization denied any connection to the sender and asked an Austin court to investigate the sender's identity; a Travis County judge had approved the questioning. The October 30 stay halts that process while the Supreme Court considers a petition for a writ of mandamus and a request for temporary relief.

FOX 7 reported that the return address on the mailers appears to be fake and is signed by an organization formed in Wyoming only in September. The Texas Tribune reported that the company that sent related text messages testified on October 29 that the texts were sent on behalf of a national Republican women's caucus fund — which denies involvement.

The mailer and text dispute surfaced just days before the midterm vote. The stay means the sender's identity will not be revealed through this questioning process before the election.
