Zion Church Founder Pastor Ezra Jin Named 2026 Lantos Human Rights Prize Recipient

The Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice announced in Washington on Oct. 9 that Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, founder of Beijing Zion Church, will receive the 2026 Lantos Human Rights Prize. The announcement marked one year since Jin's Oct. 9, 2025 arrest alongside other Zion Church leaders; he was detained for nine months before his release. Jin said he will keep advocating for the eight Zion Church members who remain imprisoned and for freedom of religion or belief. The prize will be presented Dec. 10 in Washington, D.C.
