DOJ's New National Fraud Enforcement Division Issues Directive 26-13 in Sweeping Anti-Fraud Push

Thursday, October 8, 2026 · Justice · GSM News

The U.S. Department of Justice said on October 8 that its new National Fraud Enforcement Division, led by Assistant Attorney General Colin M. McDonald, has issued Directive 26-13 setting out the division's comprehensive strategy against fraud. Fraud costs Americans tens of billions of dollars a year, with health-care fraud, unemployment-benefit fraud and scams targeting immigrants and seniors among the worst categories. GSM Justice will track the division's cases and enforcement actions — including the remittance, investment and government-impostor schemes most often aimed at Chinese-American communities.
