Paramount Skydance Settles With 12 States, Clearing Path for $110B Warner Bros. Deal

Paramount Skydance announced September 21 it has reached a settlement with California and 11 other states that had sued to block its $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal clears a key hurdle for the Hollywood mega-merger. California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced the settlement at a Los Angeles press conference.
If completed, the combined company would be one of the largest and most powerful in entertainment, uniting the Paramount and Warner Bros. studios plus news giants CNN and CBS. The merged company is named Skydance, and its shares moved from Nasdaq to the New York Stock Exchange on October 6.
The deal would reshape Hollywood and marks traditional media giants' latest move to band together for the streaming era.
