[Video] NASA and Boeing Unveil Starliner Roadmap, Target 2028 Crewed Flight

Wednesday, September 30, 2026 · Technology · GSM News

NASA and Boeing unveiled the Starliner roadmap: an uncrewed "Starliner-1" no earlier than December 2026 to validate recent fixes, including upgraded batteries and parachutes, followed by the crewed "Starliner-2" in 2028, commanded by astronaut Woody Hoburg — a former SpaceX Crew-6 pilot with 185+ days aboard the station and two spacewalks.

Starliner-2 would open up to five crewed flights under the current plan. With Atlas V retired and life-limited, NASA will work with Boeing and ULA to certify Vulcan Centaur for Starliner crew missions.
