OpenAI Cuts Funding Target by $10 Billion: Now Seeking $20 Billion at a $1.25 Trillion Valuation

AI startup OpenAI has slashed the target for its latest funding round by $10 billion and is now seeking to raise $20 billion at a $1.25 trillion valuation, the Financial Times reported on Friday, October 30, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
The company was earlier aiming to raise $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation, Reuters previously reported.
The cut lowers both the size of the raise and the price tag attached to the company. The report did not give a reason for the reduction, and OpenAI did not comment in the report, according to Reuters.
