New Hampshire Governor Election: AP Calls Race for Ayotte, Winning a Second Term

The Associated Press called New Hampshire's governor's race on the evening of November 3 for Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte, who defeated Democratic candidate and former Executive Councilor Cinde Warmington to win a second term. New Hampshire is in the northeastern United States, and its capital is Concord.
The AP results page snapshot showed 269 of the state's 318 precincts reporting, about 84.59 percent, with an estimated 86.73 percent of the vote counted; Ayotte had 297,741 votes to Warmington's 274,748. The AP declared Ayotte the winner at about 12:42 a.m. Eastern on November 4.
New Hampshire and Vermont are the only states with two-year terms for governor. Ayotte, a former state attorney general and U.S. senator, was first elected governor in 2024 as the fourth woman to hold the office in state history. Results are unofficial until canvassing and certification by the secretary of state's office.
