Steelers Rout Browns 27-6: Warren Runs for 143 Yards on His Birthday in 23rd Straight Home Win Over Cleveland

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns 27-6 at Acrisure Stadium on November 1 in Week 8 of the NFL season, improving to 6-2 and taking sole possession of first place in the AFC North. Cleveland fell to 5-3.
Running back Jaylen Warren, on his 28th birthday, tied his career high with 143 rushing yards on 17 carries, including a 51-yard run, and scored on a 1-yard plunge in the third quarter. Rico Dowdle opened the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and tight end Pat Freiermuth added a 1-yard score just before halftime to put Pittsburgh up 20-6. The Steelers rushed for more than 200 yards, 160 of them in the first half.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers finished 13 of 25 for 172 yards with one interception. Tight end Darnell Washington caught three passes for 94 yards, including a 58-yard catch-and-run to the 1-yard line in the third quarter that set up Warren's touchdown.
Pittsburgh's defense sacked Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson eight times, with T.J. Watt recording two. Watson went 27 of 39 for 324 yards with no touchdown passes and briefly left the game in the first quarter after a late hit from Jaquan Brisker. Cleveland rushed for only 34 yards as a team, with Quinshon Judkins held to 25 yards on 11 carries; tight end Harold Fannin Jr. caught 10 passes for 154 yards. The Browns scored only on two Andre Szmyt field goals and came away empty on all three of their red-zone trips.
According to the Associated Press, it was Pittsburgh's 23rd straight regular-season home win over Cleveland, tying the NFL record for consecutive home victories against a single opponent. The Steelers also avenged a road loss to the Browns a month earlier.
