Tampa: World Series Ticket Price Gap Sends Brewers Fans Flocking to Tampa Bay

Tuesday, October 20, 2026 · City · GSM News

St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida: The Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers are meeting in the World Series, and a huge gap in ticket prices between the two cities has large numbers of Brewers fans choosing to fly to Tampa Bay instead. According to USA Today on October 20, the cheapest ticket for Game 1 in Milwaukee was $2,900 for standing room as of the evening of October 19, with seats starting at $3,500, while tickets in Tampa Bay cost a fraction of that.

Brewers fan Alexander Koziel spent the night of October 19 watching the American League Championship Series with one eye and checking a ticket app with the other. When the Rays' berth was confirmed, he and his brother decided on the spot to fly to Florida for the World Series. More than 200 Brewers fans responded to a single social media call-out saying they are headed to Tropicana Field for at least one game.

Fans who bought early got bargains: Grant Taebel paid $470 a ticket at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg after Game 1 of the ALCS; Geri Wilkinson got in for roughly $400; Dan Turpaugh paid $500 a game and will spend less all-in for three games than one game at home; Sam Kluender paid $480 for seats to Games 4 and 5 and is spending $1,250 in total while staying with family; Adam Dewane, buying later, still paid only $655 a ticket for outfield seats.

The World Series opens in Milwaukee before shifting to Tampa Bay.
