ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — Japan's Daiki Hashimoto won the men's all-around title at the World Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam on Thursday, October 22, totaling 85.998 points for his fourth consecutive world all-around crown, according to NBC Sports and Xinhua. China's Yang Haonan took silver with 84.199 points in his first World Championships, and Great Britain's Joe Fraser won bronze with 83.531.

Hashimoto's scores across the six apparatus were 14.233 on floor exercise, 13.933 on pommel horse, 13.866 on still rings, 14.500 on vault, 14.466 on parallel bars and 15.000 on high bar. NBC Sports noted that his 1.799-point margin over Yang was the largest winning margin in a men's all-around final at an Olympics or world championships since Kohei Uchimura won by 1.958 in 2013. Hashimoto, 25, the Tokyo Olympic all-around champion, had qualified second into the final; his fourth straight title leaves him two shy of the record of six shared by Simone Biles and Uchimura.

Yang scored 12.266 on floor, 14.000 on pommel horse, 13.800 on rings, 14.400 on vault, 14.600 on parallel bars and 15.133 on high bar. NBC Sports described the 23-year-old as China's national champion competing at his first worlds. China's leading all-arounder Zhang Boheng and Zou Jingyuan were among the team's stars absent from this championships through injury, according to Xinhua.

Russia's Daniel Marinov was fourth at 83.297, Colombia's Angel Barajas fifth at 83.232, Britain's Jake Jarman sixth at 82.865 and Russia's Arsenii Dukhno seventh at 82.697. Japan's Shinnosuke Oka, the Paris Olympic all-around champion and the top qualifier, fell on vault, his fourth routine, and again on high bar, his last, and finished eighth at 82.165. American Frederick Richard, the 2023 world bronze medalist, also scored 82.165 to place ninth; NBC Sports said he is the first U.S. man to place in the top 10 at multiple worlds since Sam Mikulak (sixth in 2013, fifth in 2018). Fellow American Danila Leykin was 12th at 79.665.

"I know everyone talks about the streak," Hashimoto said before the championships, according to Olympics.com via NBC Sports. "They ask me what it means to be defending champion or what I think about trying to win four in a row. But to be honest, I think less and less about things like that with each year."

The championships continue Friday, October 23, with the women's all-around final, in which China's Du Siyu, Zhang Qingying and Qiu Qiyuan are set to compete.
