Brewers Rout Rays 10-1 in World Series Game 3: Eight-Run Fifth Inning Puts Milwaukee Up 3-0, One Win From First Title

The Milwaukee Brewers routed the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the 2026 World Series on October 26, 2026, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, pounding out 16 hits and scoring eight runs in the fifth inning to take a 3-0 series lead, one win from the first World Series title in franchise history. All 25 previous teams to lead a World Series 3-0 went on to win the championship.
In the third inning, Christian Yelich's bloop single to left scored Jackson Chourio for the first run, and William Contreras followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0 against Rays starter Freddy Peralta. In the fifth, after Peralta loaded the bases with two outs and was removed, Brice Turang greeted reliever Cam Booser with a two-run single that ignited an eight-run inning built on seven straight two-out hits, both World Series records. Peralta was charged with five runs over 4 2/3 innings and took the loss.
Brewers rookie Robert Gasser faced the minimum through six innings, and Chourio finished with four hits in five at-bats. The Rays managed only three hits and scored their lone run in the ninth on a long double by Yandy Díaz.
Game 4 is scheduled for the night of October 27 in St. Petersburg, where the Rays face elimination and the Brewers can clinch the first World Series championship in franchise history.
