Murrieta Field of Honor Opens Nov. 7: 2,026 Flags to Honor Veterans and First Responders

The 18th annual Murrieta Field of Honor will be on display November 7-15 in Town Square Park in Murrieta, Riverside County, California, where 2,026 full-sized American flags will honor members of the U.S. armed forces, law enforcement officers, firefighters, other first responders and personal heroes.
Presented by the Rotary Clubs of Murrieta and Old Town Temecula in partnership with the City of Murrieta, the display opens with a ceremony at 10 a.m. on November 7 recognizing first responders, including Murrieta's fire and police departments, and includes a salute to the U.S. Marine Corps on its 251st birthday on November 9. Sections of the field are set aside for Medal of Honor recipients, local servicemembers from Riverside and San Bernardino counties who have died since 2003, historical flags and a 9/11 memorial rock garden.
The display is free and open to the public. Visitors may sponsor a flag for $35 and dedicate it to a hero of their choice, then take the flag home after the event week.
