Flights Fully Booked for Pope Leo XIV's Visit to Peru, Tourism Minister Says

Flights are fully booked for the dates of Pope Leo XIV's visit to Peru, scheduled for November 11 to 16, Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Rogers Valencia told the state news agency Andina on October 26. He said Peru's tourism infrastructure is prepared to welcome the foreign visitors arriving for the visit.
Rogers Valencia said more than 3 million people are expected to travel and take part in the activities surrounding the Pope's arrival. The number of travellers heading to the destinations will be close to 800,000, including approximately 50,000 foreigners, across the four cities on the itinerary: Lima, Cusco, Chiclayo and Pucallpa. Hotel capacity in Lima and Cusco is good, he said, while Pucallpa's is more limited and private homes are being mobilised there to accommodate visitors.
The minister spoke after taking part in the ceremony awarding the Marca Perú (Peru Brand) certification to Editora Perú, the publisher of the official gazette El Peruano and the Andina news agency.
He added that, as of now, all activities scheduled for Pope Leo XIV's visit to Peru remain in place, with no cancellations. President Keiko Fujimori had attended a mass for the health of the Pope the previous day.
