Trump Issues Presidential Message on the 2026 World Series: Best Wishes to the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers

Washington — The White House released a presidential message on October 23 in which President Donald J. Trump marked the 2026 Major League Baseball World Series. The message said Americans across the country are coming together this week to celebrate the 2026 World Series, calling it the crown jewel of the nation's favorite pastime, and said baseball has long held a cherished place in American culture, with the Fall Classic once again uniting the country around the storied game.
For nearly two centuries, the message said, baseball has shaped the character of American communities, from neighborhood sandlots and local ballparks to the bright stadium lights of the Major Leagues. The game has carried the country through times of hardship and times of triumph, lifting the spirits of the Republic and instilling the enduring values of excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship in generations of Americans, it said.
This October, the message said, the finest athletes in baseball will take the field in pursuit of the legendary Commissioner's Trophy. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump sent their best wishes to the millions of fans across America for a memorable World Series, and to the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers as they compete to earn a lasting place in the history of the nation's pastime, closing with: "Play ball!"
