The 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships closed on October 25 at Rotterdam Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands, with the last final of the meet, the men's horizontal bar. Tang Chia-hung of Taiwan won gold with 14.966, becoming Taiwan's first world champion in gymnastics. Shinnosuke Oka of Japan took silver with 14.800, and Sergei Nadin of Russia won bronze.

According to USA Today, reporting on site, the final was marked by falls, and Tang was among the few gymnasts to complete his routine cleanly, edging Oka by 0.166 points. NBC Sports noted that Tang is the first world champion from Taiwan in the sport. No U.S. men reached the high bar final.

Tang, born in Taipei in 1996, is a high bar specialist: he won the high bar title at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and bronze on high bar at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and the Rotterdam title is the first world championship gold of his career. Oka, the Paris Olympic high bar champion, added a world silver in the event.

The high bar final completed the apparatus program at these championships. Earlier on Sunday, Zou Jingyuan of China won the parallel bars title, Zhang Qingying took balance beam silver, and Americans Claire Pease and Reese Esponda went one-two in the women's floor final, all previously reported by GSM. The next world championships will be held in Chengdu, China, in 2027, the last edition before the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
