Follow-Up: Zou Jingyuan Wins Fifth World Parallel Bars Title at 15.733; Zhang Qingying Takes Beam Silver on Tiebreak

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands — China's Zou Jingyuan won the men's parallel bars title with 15.733 points on the second day of apparatus finals at the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships on October 25, his fifth world title on the event, while Zhang Qingying took silver on the balance beam after finishing level on points with the champion.
Zou posted a difficulty score of 6.000 and an execution score of 9.633 for a winning total of 15.733. Illia Kovtun, competing for Croatia, took silver with 14.900, and Daniel Marinov won bronze with 14.866. It was Zou's fifth world parallel bars crown, after titles in 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2025.
The beam final was decided by the narrowest of margins: Algeria's Kaylia Nemour and Zhang both scored 14.566, with Nemour winning the tiebreak on execution, 8.266 to 8.066. Brazil's Flavia Saraiva took bronze with 14.300, and China's Qiu Qiyuan scored 13.633.
In the men's vault final, Armenia's Artur Davtyan won gold with a two-vault average of 14.850, Britain's Jake Jarman took silver at 14.650, and Norway's Sebastian Sponevik won bronze at 14.366 — Norway's first-ever medal at a world championships. No Chinese gymnast reached that final, nor the women's floor and men's high bar finals held the same day.
On the first day of apparatus finals, American Frederick Richard won the men's floor exercise title, and China's Ke Qinqin had earlier taken bronze in the women's all-around.
