World Series Game 3 Set for Oct. 26 in St. Petersburg: Rays' Freddy Peralta Faces Former Club as Brewers Lead 2-0, Robert Gasser Starts for Milwaukee

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Game 3 of the 2026 World Series is set for Monday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the Tampa Bay Rays host the Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee won the first two games at home, 3-2 and 5-4, to take a 2-0 series lead, and Tampa Bay cannot afford another loss.

The Rays turn to right-hander Freddy Peralta, who spent the first eight seasons of his major league career with Milwaukee and knows the Brewers' lineup well. Peralta is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA and 12 strikeouts this postseason. According to BVM Sports, 46 of the 57 teams that led a World Series 2-0 went on to win it, so the Rays must start their comeback at home.

Milwaukee counters with left-hander Robert Gasser, who owns a 1.00 ERA this postseason and last pitched in Game 3 of the NLCS, throwing five scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In Game 2, Tampa Bay led 4-0 after the first inning before Milwaukee rallied; Cooper Pratt's RBI single in the seventh put the Brewers ahead for good, and the Rays stranded the tying run at third in the ninth to fall 5-4.

Games 3 and 4, and Game 5 if necessary, are in Tampa Bay, airing on FOX and FOX Deportes. Both clubs are chasing their first World Series championship: Milwaukee went 103-59 in the regular season, while Tampa Bay finished 98-64 with a 55-26 home record.
