First Chinese Baptist Church of Los Angeles Holds Foster Care Workshop Today: Olive Crest Social Worker Leads TBRI Part 2

The First Chinese Baptist Church of Los Angeles (FCBCLA), in the Chinatown neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, hosts a foster care workshop today (Sunday, November 1), featuring Part 2 of training in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), led by a licensed social worker from Olive Crest, a foster and family services organization.
According to the church's official bulletin, lunch is served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., followed by the workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., in Rooms 202-203 of the church's Life Center. The workshop is open to support friends of foster families, children's and youth ministry volunteers, parents, and anyone interested in foster care; advance RSVP was required.
TBRI is an intervention model developed by the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University for children who have experienced trauma, foster care, or adoption, helping caregivers respond to children's needs in ways that build trust. It is widely used in training for foster and adoptive families in the United States.
FCBCLA is located at 942 Yale Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, in Chinatown. Founded in 1952, it is a multigenerational, multilingual church with services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
