GM Recalls 29,347 Cadillac OPTIQ SUVs: Power Windows May Fail to Reverse on an Obstruction

General Motors is recalling certain 2025-2027 Cadillac OPTIQ electric SUVs, 29,347 vehicles in total, according to a recall acknowledgment issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under campaign number 26V612.
When the front windows are closed using the key fob's express-up function, they may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, the vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems." NHTSA said a closing window that does not reverse as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
The body control module software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 9, 2026. GM's number for this recall is N262567230, and owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. The vehicle identification numbers involved became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 24, 2026. (Source: National Highway Traffic Safety Administration)
