Columbus is a city in Franklin County, Ohio. Four Columbus men were sentenced on Oct. 16 for their roles in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Imperial Stewart, whose body was found more than three years ago in a wooded area on the city's Northeast Side, the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office announced. Michael T. Bowles, 23, received 30 to 35.5 years after pleading guilty on Sept. 29 to involuntary manslaughter with a three-year firearm specification, aggravated robbery, tampering with evidence, gross abuse of a corpse and possessing weapons while under disability. His brother Mi'Quel Bowles, 21, was sentenced to 12 to 16.5 years, and Russel Hargrove-Madison, 19, received 16 to 19.5 years. Their uncle, Michael R. Bowles Jr., 39, was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail followed by two years of community control for tampering with evidence. Prosecutors said that in September 2023 the defendants picked Stewart up from his Far East Side home; during a robbery, Michael Bowles shot Stewart in the chest, dumped his body in a wooded area off Agler Road, and the group burned the car in Hanners Park in Canal Winchester.
