Chinese American Singer Emei Performs Tonight at the Lincoln Theatre: Night at the Opera Tour Reaches Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Chinese American alternative pop singer Emei performs at the Lincoln Theatre on U Street in Washington, D.C., at 8 p.m. on October 22, the Washington stop of her Night at the Opera Tour. The Lincoln Theatre is located at 1215 U St NW.
Emei, born Emily Li in New Jersey to first-generation Chinese immigrants, first made a name for herself as a teenager competing on Season 2 of Chinese Idol, where she placed third, and on the Chinese version of Dancing with the Stars. A Yale graduate with a degree in cognitive neuroscience, she went viral on TikTok in 2022 with her single 'Late to the Party' and has since released the EPs End of an Era and Scatterbrain. According to the tour schedule published by Ticketmaster, her next stops after Washington are Atlanta's Buckhead Theatre on October 24 and Los Angeles on October 30.
