Metrolink Raises Fares for First Time in 13 Years, Effective Oct. 5

Monday, October 5, 2026 · City · GSM News

Los Angeles is a city in Los Angeles County, California. Southern California commuter rail operator Metrolink put its first fare increase in 13 years into effect on Oct. 5, raising one-way tickets by about 14% on average. The agency says nearly 80% of one-way purchases rose by no more than $1, while fewer than 1% rose by more than $2. The weekday SoCal Day Pass is now $19, and the weekend and holiday pass is $12. Five-day flex passes and monthly passes are recalculated from the new one-way fares, so a few riders may pay the same or slightly less. Existing discounts for students, seniors and low-income riders remain in place.
