Miami-Dade Vote-by-Mail Request Deadline Is 5 p.m. October 22: 28 Early Voting Sites Open Through November 1

MIAMI, Florida — The Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections office, in Miami-Dade County, Florida, says requests for vote-by-mail ballots for the 2026 general election must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 22; a postmark alone does not meet the deadline. Early voting began October 19 and runs through November 1 at 28 sites countywide, open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and registered voters may use any site. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, voters must go to the polling place on their voter information card, with polls open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Completed mail ballots must be received by the elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day and can also be returned at secure ballot intake stations at any early voting site during early voting hours.

Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia said the county has completed the logic and accuracy test of its tabulation equipment required under Florida law, running ballots with predetermined results through the machines; vote-by-mail ballots go through identity and signature checks, and the voting system is not connected to the internet. All county voters will decide seven county referendum questions, including whether an independent commission should set county commissioners' salaries and whether to renew a school tax. City of Miami residents will also vote on a $450 million general obligation bond for police and fire facilities, which applies only to voters inside the city. Sample ballots and site addresses are posted at VoteMiamiDade, and some early voting locations have been temporarily relocated. (GSM, based on the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections)
