Eagles running back Saquon Barkley returns to practice, stops short of guaranteeing Monday return

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania — The Philadelphia Eagles, based in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, got a boost on October 22 as running back Saquon Barkley returned to practice after missing two games with a hamstring injury — though he stopped short of guaranteeing he will play in the team's next game, at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, October 26.

"I would love to play Monday night," Barkley said. "But I would be doing myself a disservice to sit here and say that Monday night, I'm guaranteeing myself to play. I do know that I have all the trust in the trainers... and to be honest, I was trying to go last week." He was listed as limited on the Eagles' injury report. Barkley was hurt in the first quarter against the Los Angeles Rams on October 4 and missed the games against Jacksonville and Carolina. He has 182 rushing yards this season, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, with 83 yards in the opener against Washington and 82 against Chicago on September 28.

Head coach Nick Sirianni would not confirm Barkley's availability against Dallas but said he has a good chance, calling him "a phenomenal football player, phenomenal leader, captain" whose return would be huge. The Eagles' rushing attack ranks 29th in the NFL.
