D.R. Horton Signs Robot Homebuilding Deal as Phoenix-Area Plant Targets 1,250 Homes From 2027

Phoenix is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona. D.R. Horton, one of the largest U.S. homebuilders, has entered a multiyear agreement with Toronto-based Promise Robotics to support production of more than 1,250 homes using super intelligence and robotic manufacturing, the companies announced on October 13.
Promise Robotics has secured approximately 16,000 square feet in the Gilbert area of the East Valley and plans to begin manufacturing in early 2027, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. The company declined to disclose its investment or anticipated staffing.
The agreement makes D.R. Horton the first major U.S. homebuilder to use Promise Robotics' integrated production platform. Its factory-as-a-service model gives builders access to automated production without owning or operating factories: the platform translates existing home designs into production plans and robotic instructions, coordinating factory manufacturing with on-site installation.
Brad Conlon, D.R. Horton's senior vice president of strategic growth and innovation, said the platform gives the builder a new capability to improve construction schedules, expand capacity and increase operational consistency. Promise Robotics is recruiting a Phoenix-metro plant manager, and its job listing indicates the facility will serve multiple homebuilders.
