Pittsburgh Council Advances $340 Million On-Call Contracts and Vendor Performance Review System

Pittsburgh is a city in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh media reported that the City Council has advanced three requests from the Office of Management and Budget covering more than $340 million in three-year on-call professional-services contracts with 96 vendors, 48 of them capped at $1.5 million per year and 48 at $750,000. Councillors noted the requests name the vendors but not the departments that would use them or why. The council also advanced a no-cost arrangement with the nonprofit Partners for Public Good to create a performance-based review system for city vendors before contracts are renewed. Final votes on the items were scheduled for the council's October 13 meeting.
