The Seattle Kraken, based in Seattle, King County, Washington, beat the visiting Detroit Red Wings 4-3 in a shootout on Tuesday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle built a 3-0 lead on goals by Mackie Samoskevich in the first period and Ryker Evans and Brandon Montour in the second, and carried the three-goal advantage into the third period.

Detroit then scored three times in the third period. Viktor Arvidsson got the Red Wings on the board, Lucas Raymond scored on a power play, and Alex DeBrincat tied the game with 16.9 seconds left in regulation, a goal that was also the 300th of his career. Neither team scored in overtime.

In the shootout, Frederick Gaudreau and Bobby McMann scored for Seattle. Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer made 22 saves in the game and stopped three of Detroit's four shootout attempts, including Dylan Larkin in the final round. The win ended Seattle's two-game losing streak and improved the Kraken to 4-1-1 in their past six games.
