Trump Wins Presidential Election With 312 Electoral Votes

The 2024 United States presidential election was held on November 5, 2024. Republican candidate and former president Donald J. Trump defeated Democratic candidate and sitting vice president Kamala D. Harris, winning the electoral votes needed to return to the White House as the 47th president of the United States.
The 2024 Electoral College results published by the U.S. National Archives show Trump with 312 electoral votes to Harris's 226, out of 538 total, with 270 needed to win. Trump's running mate, Ohio senator JD Vance, was elected vice president; Harris's running mate was Minnesota governor Tim Walz.
The National Archives' state-by-state table shows Trump carrying all of the principal battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Maine and Nebraska split their electoral votes under their allocation systems.
Official Federal Election Commission tallies also gave Trump the popular vote, with 77,303,568 votes, or 49.81 percent, to Harris's 75,019,230 votes, or 48.34 percent. Trump thereby became the first president since Grover Cleveland to win non-consecutive terms.
Electors formally cast their ballots in the states in December 2024, Congress counted the electoral votes on January 6, 2025, and Trump and Vance were sworn in on January 20, 2025. (Source: U.S. National Archives and Records Administration)
