Loma Linda is a city in San Bernardino County, California. Loma Linda University Health has agreed to a $7.5 million settlement resolving allegations of improper disposal of hazardous waste, medical waste and protected patient information, comprising $6.75 million in civil penalties, $500,000 to reimburse investigative costs and $250,000 to fund environmental projects.

Prosecutors said the settlement also requires the health system to maintain and strengthen a comprehensive compliance program; a further $1 million penalty may be imposed if it fails to spend at least $3 million on required compliance measures within five years.
