Seal Beach: Council Ratifies Local Emergency Declaration Ahead of El Niño
Seal Beach is a city in Orange County, California. On September 29, the Seal Beach City Council voted unanimously to ratify a local emergency proclamation issued on September 22, preparing for the developing 2026–27 El Niño and anticipated coastal and storm impacts. City Manager Gallegos said the ratification preserves the authority to coordinate resources, request mutual aid, use emergency purchasing procedures where allowed, and track emergency costs for possible reimbursement, while staff pursue sand sourcing and regional coordination.
