Redlands: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after ramming car
Redlands is a city in San Bernardino County, California. Redlands police have arrested 24-year-old Giovanni Efrain Pelayo, who is charged with attempted murder, domestic violence and vandalism; he has not been convicted.
Police said that on the evening of October 2, Pelayo argued with his ex-girlfriend and her friend in a parking lot in the 1700 block of East Lugonia Avenue, tried to force his way into their vehicle and damaged it by jumping on the hood, then pursued them by car and rammed their vehicle near Fifth Street. During the pursuit he also collided with an uninvolved vehicle on Reservoir Road before fleeing and abandoning his car. He was arrested at his home in Mentone and is held at the county Central Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
