Nations League: Switzerland Beat Slovenia 2-1 in Lucerne
Switzerland beat Slovenia 2-1 in a UEFA Nations League League B Group 1 match at the Swissporarena in Lucerne on 3 October, in front of a crowd of 15,240.
Slovenia struck first, with forward Vipotnik scoring after just two minutes. Switzerland levelled eight minutes later through an own goal by Slovenian defender Janža, and Dan Ndoye put the hosts ahead in the 38th minute with what proved to be the winning goal. Slovak referee Kružliak officiated the match.
Ndoye, in fine form this season, was again the decisive figure for the Swiss side, whose victory kept them firmly in contention at the top of the group.
Switzerland remain in Lucerne for their next fixture three days later, when they host North Macedonia.
