NC's MMO Sequel Aion 2 Launches on PC Oct. 5, Opening October's Online Slate

SEOUL, Oct. 5 — Aion 2, the massively multiplayer online role-playing sequel from Korean publisher NC, launched on PC on Oct. 5, according to Dexerto's 2026 video game release calendar. The calendar lists it as the early-October window's rare pure-MMO launch, set apart from the same week's single-player blockbuster Gears of War: E-Day on Oct. 6.
The original Aion built its identity on flight-based combat and faction warfare and ran for years across Asian and Western markets. The sequel's slot in the first full week of October follows the back-to-school period in North America, a window online publishers typically use for new servers and return-player events.
Server regions, client downloads and account systems follow NC's official announcements. Players considering a cross-region account should check the official site for regional differences in latency, pricing and item-shop terms before purchasing.
On the calendar, Oct. 5 sits in a lull between blockbuster weekends: the Oct. 1 multi-platform wave had passed its launch peak, and Gears of War: E-Day did not arrive until Oct. 6. Slotting an MMO into that gap buys it a media window of its own and avoids competing head-on with console tentpoles for players' first-week hours — a staggered-release tactic Asian publishers have used repeatedly in recent years.
