Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' Sparks Lip-Sync Wave: Nearly 150,000 TikTok Videos
According to TikTok trend data re-checked by SocialPilot on October 5, Patient Zero, a track from Taylor Swift's album The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, released September 25, became one of the fastest-rising sounds of early October, with about 149,300 videos and new ones still going up daily.
SocialPilot identified three main content types around the song: lip-syncs racing to deliver the first line of the chorus, fans posting first-listen reactions to the album, and wedding-day edits — the last of which has grown into its own sub-format, the Patient Zero Wedding Day Edit. Cafes, nail and hair salons and music stores also posted staff first-listen reactions to ride the trend.
SocialPilot expected roughly one more week of lift before reaction content tapers on its natural cycle. Among Chinese-speaking fans, discussion of the song also spread to Xiaohongshu and Weibo, where sharply divided first impressions became fuel for a second round of sharing.
