Nations League: Switzerland Cruise Past North Macedonia 3-0 to Stay Perfect
Switzerland defeated North Macedonia 3-0 in UEFA Nations League League B Group 1 in Lucerne on 6 October, before a crowd of 15,730, making it four wins from four and 12 points at the top of the group.
Fabian Rieder opened the scoring in the 43rd minute. Johan Manzambi doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, and Dan Ndoye — the match-winner against Slovenia three days earlier — added a third in the 81st minute, scoring for the second consecutive game.
After four rounds, Switzerland lead Group B1 with 12 points, ahead of Slovenia on 7, Scotland on 4 and North Macedonia, who remain without a point. Under the Nations League format, the group winners earn promotion to League A.
Switzerland's coach continued to give opportunities to younger players during this campaign, with Manzambi among those earning regular minutes. Switzerland's next Nations League fixtures fall in the following international window.
