Delta Boosts Los Angeles–Shanghai Route to Five Flights Weekly

Delta Air Lines has increased its Los Angeles (LAX)–Shanghai Pudong service from three to five flights a week starting Oct. 6, operated by Airbus A350-900s.
Flight DL39 departs Los Angeles at 11:55 a.m. and arrives in Shanghai at 6:00 p.m. the next day; DL38 leaves Shanghai at 8:15 p.m. and reaches Los Angeles at 4:05 p.m. the same day.
The route relaunched in June 2025 at three weekly flights; the increase supports the winter-spring schedule and holiday demand, giving Southern California travelers more options to Shanghai. (GSM, from Aeroroutes schedule data and Simple Flying)
