Rancho Cucamonga, California Council Approves $7.8 Million Brewery Purchase to Build a Fire Station

Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino County, California: The City Council on October 7 unanimously approved a $7.8 million purchase agreement under which the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District will buy the Hamilton Family Brewery property at 8889 Archibald Avenue and convert it into a fire station.
Under the agreement described in a city report presented at the meeting, the Fire Protection District will fund $6 million for the purchase of the property and building, while the city funds $1.8 million for relocation of the business and logistical expenses. Fire officials say a station at the site would improve emergency response times; the district previously bought another site for a planned station and now expects to sell that parcel.
The brewery opened at the Archibald Avenue location in September 2025 after moving from its previous site on 7th Street. Neighbors have since protested on weekends over noise, traffic and unruly visitors, and the city began reviewing complaints in March. Co-owner Josh Hamilton told the council the couple put nearly $2.5 million into bringing the building up to code and hundreds of thousands of dollars into equipment, and that after negotiations they considered the deal "the best-case scenario for everybody involved" and supported it. The brewery plans to return to its former 7th Street location and build a tasting room there. The sale must still close through escrow.
