Temecula-Area Brush Fire Destroys One Structure; Forward Spread Stopped

According to CAL FIRE and the Riverside County Fire Department, a brush fire that broke out on the afternoon of October 6 in the hills southwest of Temecula, in the De Luz area, burned about 15 acres and destroyed one structure.
Ground crews and night-flying helicopters stopped the fire's forward spread, and firefighters are now securing the perimeter and putting out interior hot spots. The fire burned near the Riverside–San Diego county line, and its cause remains under investigation. With hot, dry weather across Southern California, residents should follow official fire updates.
