Barstow: City Council advances property-tax sharing agreements for BNSF International Gateway project
Barstow is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The Barstow City Council on October 6 unanimously approved two negotiated property-tax revenue exchange agreements tied to LAFCO annexations for the BNSF Barstow International Gateway project.
City staff said action was required to move the LAFCO process forward, despite residents urging a delay over environmental litigation and fire-response questions. The project is a roughly 4,500-acre integrated rail facility planned with a rail yard, an intermodal facility and transload warehouses.
