Gunman in U-Haul Truck Fires a Shot and Steals E-Bike From Rider in Hesperia
An e-bike rider was robbed at gunpoint in Hesperia on the afternoon of Oct. 7, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said. Shortly after 5 p.m., near C Avenue and Mojave Street, the rider was cut off by a U-Haul truck; the driver got out, demanded the e-bike, and when the rider refused, pulled out a handgun and fired one shot past him, a department spokeswoman said. The rider was not hit, but he stepped aside and the suspect took the bike and fled. Deputies describe the robber as a white man wearing a T-shirt, a baseball cap and jeans, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information can call the Hesperia station at (760) 947-1500 or leave an anonymous tip with the WeTip hotline at (844) 909-3096.
