Pedestrian Crash on 20th Street West in Palmdale Kills 77-Year-Old; Road Closed Both Ways for Over Five Hours
Palmdale is a city in Los Angeles County, California. A fatal pedestrian crash occurred in Palmdale at about 7 p.m. on October 9 in the 40836 block of 20th Street West, where a pedestrian was struck by a white Hyundai Genesis. Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. The county medical examiner later identified the victim as Concepcion Atkins, 77. The California Highway Patrol said the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Both directions of 20th Street West were closed for more than five hours during the investigation.
