California Upgrades Swiftwater Rescue Fleet for 13 Local Fire Departments
Governor Newsom announced that California is delivering new swiftwater rescue vehicles, boats and specialized equipment to 13 local fire departments, modernizing the state's Type 1 Swiftwater Rescue Teams. The teams can deploy statewide through California's mutual-aid system for flash flooding, flooded roads and fast-moving rivers ahead of a potentially El Niño-driven storm season.
