Why Does Los Angeles City Hall Glow Teal? Honoring Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Los Angeles is a city in Los Angeles County, California. According to a City of Los Angeles news post dated October 9, 2026, Los Angeles City Hall is illuminated in teal every September in recognition of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. This year's lighting marks a decade of partnership with The Ovarian Cancer Circle.
Inspired by Robin Babbini, The Ovarian Cancer Circle is dedicated to raising awareness of ovarian cancer, supporting survivors and families, and advocating for those impacted by the disease. The teal illumination serves as a powerful symbol of hope, remembrance and community solidarity. For ten years, the organization has worked alongside Los Angeles City leaders to bring its message to communities across the city.
The annual City Hall presentation reflects a shared commitment to education, advocacy and support. Advocates expressed gratitude to Los Angeles City Councilmembers for a decade of continued partnership and support, looking ahead to many more years of illuminating Los Angeles in teal and raising awareness about ovarian cancer.
