T&T Supermarket Sets Nov. 5 for San Francisco Opening; Chino Hills and Irvine Stores Next in California Push

T&T Supermarket, Canada's largest Asian grocery chain, has set November 5 as the opening date for its second California store — a new San Francisco location at the City Center shopping center — as the retailer's U.S. expansion gathers speed, Chain Store Age reported this week.
The San Francisco store will join Target as an anchor of the City Center property, which serves Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Laurel Heights and the Richmond District, near Golden Gate Park and the University of San Francisco. The store will carry the chain's signature mix of Asian groceries, freshly prepared foods, baked goods and Korean beauty products, with more than 300 T&T private label items — and a notable first: the first T&T Café in the United States, serving made-to-order specialty lattes and drinks inspired by Asian flavors.
Founded in Vancouver in 1993 and owned by Loblaw, T&T operates more than 40 stores in Canada and the U.S. It made its U.S. debut in Bellevue, Washington in December 2024 — where lines wrapped around the building for days — followed by Lynnwood, Washington and San Jose, California in June. Additional California locations are already announced for Millbrae, Chino Hills and Irvine.
The Chino Hills store, a 61,000-square-foot location at Crossroads Marketplace Chino Hills next to Costco and PetSmart, is slated for fall 2026 and is expected to create 350 local jobs. The Irvine store will be the chain's Southern California debut, a 34,000-square-foot store in The Canopy retail development in the Great Park community. "Chino Hills is a wonderful community to live, and we can't wait to add to the local food scene," CEO Tina Lee said when the store was announced.
For Chinese American shoppers in Southern California, the pipeline means two new full-size T&T destinations are on the way — one in the east San Gabriel Valley corridor and one in Orange County's Great Park — adding a major new option alongside 99 Ranch Market and other Asian grocers.
