Oklahoma Stuns No. 1 Texas 27-24 in Red River Rivalry on Walk-Off Field Goal

Dallas is a city in Dallas County, Texas. DALLAS, Oct. 10 — The Oklahoma Sooners pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the college football season on Saturday, beating the No. 1 Texas Longhorns 27-24 in the Red River Rivalry at the Cotton Bowl.
Kicker Tate Sandell nailed a 47-yard walk-off field goal to win it. The 2025 Lou Groza Award winner had missed three straight kicks dating back to the Georgia game but redeemed himself with two second-half makes, including the game-winner.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning threw two second-half interceptions that swung the game. With under a minute left, Courtland Guillory's interception gave Oklahoma one final shot; quarterback John Mateer hit Isaiah Sategna on a pair of back-shoulder fades to set up Sandell.
Texas had its chance first: with 1:55 to play, Manning drove the Longhorns into range, but kicker Gianni Spetic missed from 52 yards. Texas falls to 4-1 and off the No. 1 perch, with questions swirling about Manning; Oklahoma improves to 3-2 (1-1 SEC) and keeps its College Football Playoff hopes alive with seven games remaining.
