Riverside Seeks Residents' Input on Next City Manager, Public Forum Oct. 21

Riverside is a city in Riverside County, California. The City of Riverside has launched the recruitment process for a new city manager and is asking residents to share their thoughts on the qualities and priorities they want to see in the ideal candidate. An online survey opened Friday and will remain open until Oct. 23, available in both English and Spanish.
"Selecting Riverside's next city manager is one of the most important decisions we will make as a City Council," said Councilman Steve Robillard, who is heading the recruitment process. "We need an experienced, capable leader, who values transparency, accountability and delivering results for our residents."
The process will also include a public forum on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside Municipal Airport terminal, 6951 Flight Road. Residents will have opportunities to ask questions and offer their personal opinions about who to hire.
"It's important that our community has a voice in this process, and I encourage residents, business owners and other stakeholders to share their thoughts on the qualities and priorities they want to see in our next city manager," Robillard said. "Ultimately, our goal is to find someone who can work effectively with the City Council, lead our organization and help move Riverside forward."
The council has put Tustin-based Jacob Green & Associates in charge of the recruitment campaign. Mike Futrell resigned as city manager in June amid tensions stemming from a disciplinary probe and has since taken a similar position in the Bay Area. Thomas Hatch is serving as the interim city manager.
