Hollywood Burbank Airport's New $1.3B Terminal Opens Oct. 13; 1930 Terminal Retires

Monday, October 12, 2026 · California · GSM News

The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority says its new $1.3 billion passenger terminal will welcome its first travelers on Tuesday, Oct. 13, replacing the passenger terminal that has occupied the southeast corner of the airfield since 1930. The new building is 355,000 square feet — about 53% larger than the old complex — and keeps 14 gates under the cap voters approved in 2016's Measure B. It meets current seismic and accessibility standards. The main entrance moves to the intersection of Winona Avenue and Hollywood Way; the new address is 2827 North Hollywood Way, Burbank. Parking Lot E closes permanently on Oct. 13, while the outdoor aircraft-boarding tradition continues. Demolition of the outgoing terminal is expected to begin late 2026 and take about nine months. Travelers departing Oct. 13 or later are urged to check the new routing before heading to the airport. (Sources: Hollywood Burbank Airport authority, replacement-terminal FAQ.)
