Pacific Surfliner Resumes Full Service Monday After Weekend Closure; OC Stations Reopen

Amtrak's scheduled Oct. 10–11 full-corridor closure has ended, and the Pacific Surfliner resumed full service from San Diego to San Luis Obispo on Monday, Oct. 12. The first trains ran on time through San Clemente. Orange County stations — Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente Pier — are all back in service. No storm damage was found on the San Clemente tracks after Tropical Storm Rachel. Travelers should note that trains 777 and 794 may run late Oct. 12–16 because of launch activity at Vandenberg Space Force Base, and the next scheduled full-corridor closure is Nov. 7–8.
