GTA 6 Countdown: Less Than Six Weeks to Launch (First Report)

Grand Theft Auto VI is now less than six weeks from release. The Rockstar Games open-world title launches Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S - just 39 days from Oct. 11.
According to a launch rundown updated Oct. 11 on Medium, the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition $99.99. Pre-orders opened June 25; digital copies can be pre-loaded from Nov. 12, while physical editions ship with a download code redeemable from the same date. Digital pre-orders include a Vintage Vice City Pack and one free month of GTA+. The game is rated Mature 17+ by the ESRB.
In the past week, Rockstar previewed in-game radio stations and opened a merchandise collection on its store, while a fresh unofficial leak reportedly hit the internet. The date is considered solid: GTA 6 has already slipped twice, first out of fall 2025 and then out of May 2026. Take-Two has reaffirmed Nov. 19 on earnings calls, with its CEO tying the company's record fiscal 2027 outlook to the launch; pre-orders, pre-loads and a major marketing push are already running.
The game is set in the fictional state of Leonida, a take on Florida, starring Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos - the series' first non-optional female lead - playable in third person, together or apart. Rockstar confirmed to press in late August that the game uses no generative SI and that neither edition will have microtransactions at launch.
One note for players: Rockstar has not announced a PC version. GTA 5 took about 19 months to reach PC after its console launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 took about a year, so PC players may need patience.
